EUROPRIX Multimedia Festival, now third time in ever so wonderful and hospitable Graz, was once again unforgettable. Populated by members of the 20 nominee teams, digital media industry representatives, lecturers and students the three days were filled with energy and creativity plus all other fun stuff.

Joost van Eeden from Amsterdam is this week in Tampere to visit the MindTrek Conference - like 800 other MindTrekkers from all over. But Joost has a special reason: he represents DonkeyPedia, which is one of the three nominees of the Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Award. Donkeypedia is also nominated for the online category in EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards, so Joost will attend also the EUROPRIX Multimedia Festival in Graz in November.
EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards is a contest in nine categories for young talents (under 30) who create digital contents. EUROPRIX has been arranged since 1998 and has had participants from 34 European countries.

The Operaatio Hurrikaani women team headed off to Graz, Austria 27.-30.11.2008 to present the project and TAMK University of Applied Sciences School of Art and Media.
The Academic Network of the European Academy of Digital Media (EADiM) had the annual conference in Graz, Austria, end of last week. This year the conference was titled "Design, Develop, Deliver - Multimedia and e-content trends".
The sessions covered actual topics like
Social Media - one of the main themes at the MindTrek Conference earlier this week - was dominant also at the MindTrek Awards Price Ceremony.
The winner of MindTrek €20 008 Grand Prix is Wreck-A-Movie, the movie production community by Star Wreck Studios Oy.

The five nominees for the €20 008 MindTrek Grand Prix have been announced. The nominations are made by the MindTrek Grand Prix jury. The winner will be selected by the Grand Juror Matti Apunen, Editor-in-Chief of Aamulehti, and awarded at the MindTrek Awards Ceremony October 8th at Hotel Rosendahl.

Operation Hurricane is nominated for EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards in the category for Interactive Television. The team will meet all other 22 EUROPRIX nominee teams at the EUROPRIX Top Talent Festival in Graz November 27-29. The highlight of the festival is the EUROPRIX Awards Gala.
