Juha Suonpää's photographs at Housing Fair 2012 Tampere

The national Housing Fair 2012 is held in Tampere in the district of Vuores between 13th July and 12th August 2012:

"The fair area has 39 homes that are open to the public and provide an overview of state-of-the-art developments in building design and construction. Examples include an ecological low-carbon-emitting wooden house, a home that supports the wellbeing of its residents, a functional house that is designed for active families with children, a modifiable loft semi-detached house, and a zero-energy house that is self-sufficient when in comes to energy production."

The head of our Degree Programme in Fine Arts, Dr. Juha Suonpää has lived in the Vuores district a long time before it became urban. His photo exhibition on the original residents of Vuores is displayed on the electricity distribution cabinets of the area. Juha Suonpää's photos introduce the woodpeckers, owls, cuckoos, elks and foxes in their original sites.

The exhibition is arranged in cooperation with Tampere Museum of Contemporary Art and Tampere Municipal Power Plant.
