Staff Exchange in Tandil, part 3

Our exchange university Unicen (Universidad National del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires) in Tandil has about 12 000 students. Main campus area, which is constantly growing with new buildings, is located about 7 kilometers from the city center of Tandil, and there are also faculties in Azul and Olavarria. The Faculty of Economics (Facultad de Ciencias Económicas) is biggest with 2 500 students and about 250 professors of which 40 are fulltime.

During my last week in Tandil I had a lecturer about "Marketing and media" for the students of marketing. The lecture was open so there were also professionals outside the faculty attending the 3,5 hours "conferencia". The challenges for marketing an immaterial product such as film or an event were first topic. Second was about the new possibilities for marketing in the internet, with social media tools and mobile. According to last statistics from 2007 in Argentina there are about 16 million internet users, penetration about 40 % and the usage is growing fast.

We were also talking about the challenges for developing cooperation between different faculties; this is the same problem we in TAMK share with Unicen: how to find innovative, interesting projects where students from several faculties can study and work together.

I had very good and interesting time in Tandil and I want to say many many thanks to all the people of University! Looking forward to come back soon.. Gracias!
