Demola, in one sentence, lets students to do project courses together with students from other universities and companies in Tampere region. TAMK School of Art and Media students are attending in two project courses starting next year. All eyes will be on these two interesting pilot projects.
Learn to fly with Pikku kakkonen is a project for Finnish Broadcasting Company. It utilizes web camera as the input device, to let very small children enjoy interactive media before even being able to use the mouse. The project got instantly filled with students from all around TAMK and has raised interest in the students of Tampere universities. The project will be done in close collaboration with the student's game development club Score, which will also get it's own space in Demola.
Ethical recommendation engine Firefox extension is a project for Nokia, organized by our non-military servant Wesa Aapro. The project goal is to create a Firefox extension, that tells ethical information about online purchases, before the purchase. The project idea originates from Consumer Gadget project, that tells ethical information about products through, before the purchase. Ethical shopping is very strongly growing trend and each week a new ethical information service pops up on the web. The Firefox extension will be built on top of the open information services, focusing on user-friendly information packaging.
