TheStory of My Tribe documentary was made as graduation work for the
Fine Art degree program at Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
The film was chosen to Helsinki Documentary Film Festival and won the
Best Student Documentary Award. The Story of My Tribe is written and
directed by Mari Ljokkoi.
The documentary is based on the memories of
third generation immigrants from Karelia. The Jury was pleased by the
documentary’s unique style of presenting history and clear
portrayal of its own generation.
